What is hangi?

Hangi, or earth oven, is where food is cooked over rocks that have been heated and buried in the ground. The food is then covered with sacks and leaves and finally dirt and a few hours later it is cooked.

What Pacific Hangi have done is taken the hangi out of the ground and with their unique above ground hangi pit are able to deliver to you the same delicious taste of a hangi, without having to dig up your lawn to do so. And because we cook the hangi above the ground, we are not dependant on the weather. The food is cooked at your venue over a period of 4 hours.

Included in the hangi is 2 meats, 3 vegetables , 3 salads, 2 desserts and complimentary tea and coffee. You can also have steamed pudding cooked in the hangi at an extra cost. (These are absolutely delicious).
